Lessons Beyond the Battlefield

Military service became far more than an occupation. It taught Bruce how to remain calm under pressure, work as part of a team, respect leadership, and develop the discipline needed to complete difficult missions.

Many of the leadership principles later found throughout his books—including responsibility, commitment, preparation, perseverance, and serving others—can be traced back to lessons learned while wearing the uniform.

Although his future career would move through construction, computer programming, teaching, entrepreneurship, and eventually publishing, the habits developed during military service remained constant throughout every chapter of his life.
