Cadet Service Ribbons

After specialty completion, service ribbons become the primary way cadets build a visible service record. Ribbons stack. Some are time-based. Others reflect contribution, community activity, and steady judgment under pressure.

Important: These ribbons are not about popularity. They exist to recognize consistent service, helpfulness, and real-world community activity that reflects Starfighters values.

How Ribbons Are Earned

  • Automatic ribbons are time-based and system-tracked.
  • Qualification ribbons are unlocked by completing additional Phase III specialties.
  • Contribution ribbons reflect volunteer support and approved improvements.
  • Commendations recognize exceptional discipline and clarity under pressure.

Cadet Phase Ribbons

Cadet Orientation Ribbon

Phase I - Cadet Orientation Ribbon - 100 points

Training • Induction

Purpose

Recognizes successful completion of Cadet Orientation and formal entry into the Starfighters Cadet Corps.

Criteria

Completion of all Phase I Cadet Orientation requirements and acknowledgment of the Cadet Code of Conduct.

Specialty Initiation Ribbon

Phase II - Specialty Initiation Ribbon - 200 points

Training • Specialization

Purpose

Recognizes completion of Flight Readiness Qualification and activation into a Specialty Division.

Criteria

Successful completion of FRQ and selection of an approved Specialty Division.

Specialty Operations Ribbon

Phase III - Specialty Operations Ribbon - 300 points

Service • Operations

Purpose

Recognizes operational activation and eligibility for Phase III Specialty missions.

Criteria

Completion of two approved Phase III missions following Specialty activation. Operational status confirmed.

Time-in-Service Ribbons

Active Service Ribbon

Active Service Ribbon - 50 Points

Automatic • 3 Months

Purpose

Marks consistent participation and readiness.

Criteria

Logged into the Starfighters system and engaged with training activities for at least 6 months.

Sustained Service Ribbon

Sustained Service Ribbon - 100 Points

Automatic • 6 Months

Purpose

Recognizes continued commitment and reliability.

Criteria

12 months of active status (cumulative), regardless of specialty.

Extended Service Ribbon

Extended Service Ribbon - 250 Points

Automatic • 12 Months

Purpose

Honors long-term consistency and dedication.

Criteria

24 months active participation.

Cross-Specialty Qualification Ribbons

Dual-Qualified Ribbon

Dual-Qualified Ribbon - 150 Points

Qualification • 2 Specialties

Purpose

Recognizes versatility across specialties.

Criteria

Completed two different Phase III specialties.

Multi-Discipline Ribbon

Multi-Discipline Ribbon - 300 Points

Qualification • 3+ Specialties

Purpose

Signals breadth of expertise and adaptability.

Criteria

Completed three or more Phase III specialties.

Contribution & Community Activity Ribbons

These ribbons recognize service that strengthens the cadet corps and reflects Starfighters values through real contributions.

Instructor Support Ribbon

Instructor Support Ribbon - 125 Points

Contribution • Mentorship

Purpose

Rewards consistent, volunteer help for other cadets.

Criteria

Actively assists new cadets in training modules or discussions for 3+ months, verified via app contribution logs.

Doctrine Contributor Ribbon

Doctrine Contributor Ribbon - 125 Points

Contribution • Approved Updates

Purpose

Recognizes contributions that improve training materials, manuals, or system logic.

Criteria

Submitted approved suggestions/updates that are integrated into official materials via the Starfighters blog.

Community Stabilizer Ribbon

Community Stabilizer Ribbon - 125 Points

Community Activity

Purpose

Honors cadets who model calm guidance and positive influence.

Criteria

Active participation in community spaces and service efforts (community service, scouts, seniors volunteer programs, and related activities).

Mission Support Ribbon

Mission Support Ribbon - 125 Points

Outreach • Program Support

Purpose

Recognizes support for Starfighters programs beyond core training.

Criteria

Participation in community events, workshops, outreach campaigns, or official missions — including posting to X.com, Facebook, and other social media in support of the Starfighters Cadet Program.

Mission Support Ribbon

Cadet Expansion Ribbon - 100 Points

Contribution • Recruitment

Purpose

Recognizes cadets who actively strengthen the Corps by referring new recruits into the Starfighters Cadet Program.

Criteria

Verified referral of one or more new cadets who successfully enroll and complete initial Cadet Orientation, confirmed through program tracking or referral logs.

Commendation Ribbons

Commendations are awarded for discipline and maturity. These should remain harder to earn and visibly meaningful.

Service Under Pressure Ribbon

Service Under Pressure Ribbon - 300 Points

Commendation

Purpose

Honors maturity and discipline when challenges arise.

Criteria

Calm and effective engagement in high-pressure scenarios or challenges (timed events, conflict resolution exercises) with non-negative outcomes.

Exceptional Clarity Ribbon

Exceptional Clarity Ribbon - 300 Points

Commendation

Purpose

Rewards excellence in communication and clarity.

Criteria

Documented examples of exceptional messaging that helped others avoid confusion or solve complex problems.

Exemplary Judgment Ribbon

Exemplary Judgment Ribbon - 500 Points

Commendation

Purpose

Highlights superior decision quality under uncertainty.

Criteria

Recognized choices in difficult training scenarios that demonstrate discipline and clarity of thought.
